   At E-Bid, your personal information is never disclosed to anyone without your prior consent. E-Bid provides our Members an opportunity to obtain easily accessible online content in a manner that provides privacy protection and Member control. You can change your information at any time by accessing your Members account.   When you visit www.ebid.com.au, we will not collect any information about you. If you decide to become a Member and complete your E-Bid Member Registration at www.ebid.com.au, we will ask you to provide us certain information such as your name, address, payment details and your preferred method for us to contact you. We need this information to establish your E-Bid Members Account. Your information is never disclosed to anyone without your prior consent. We utilize the latest Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to protect your personal information transmitted to us over the Internet. Only adults are able to complete registration with us. We use a feature of your browser called a 'cookie' to assign a 'User ID.' Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to find out the identity of any user. Your Personal User ID automatically identifies your computer - but not you - to our servers when you visit our site. 

B. Consent

   E-Bid will never wilfully disclose personally identifiable information about our Members to any third party without first receiving our Members permission. The only exception to this policy is when we are required to do so by a legal statute, a law enforcement agency, or regulatory authority. This will usually be done only after we receive a court order or subpoena that requires us to release information. In certain cases, an emergency request from a verifiable law enforcement agency may be honored prior to receiving a court order or subpoena. We will make every reasonable effort to notify our Members as soon as possible if we receive a request for the release of information so that our Members can have the opportunity to pursue any legal rights and remedies they may have under the law. Under certain circumstances, a court order or law may prohibit us from notifying our Members of a request for information. Examples of this include cases in which fraud and/or criminal activity is suspected. In these cases, we will make every effort to notify our Member, at the earliest possible time permissible under the law.   In the event we decide to update or change our privacy policy, our Members will be contacted via the method they have selected as the best method to contact them. In addition, the Privacy Statement link will always contain the most up-to-date policy. Our Members will therefore always be informed about our disclosure principles regarding their data and about how E-Bid will manage their personal information. 

C. Security

   We ensure information quality by employing advanced technology to protect our Members' data. Details of the encryption technology used for the secure transmission of your personal information via the Internet are displayed on our Welcome page. You are able to view the Verisign SSL certificate by clicking on the icon on our Welcome page or by clicking on your browser security feature on the Registration page.   We also have well-defined employee and partner practices that protect the integrity of and access to our Members' personal information. We employ security techniques and well-defined employee practices to ensure that data is protected from unauthorized internal access and use.   Our Members have access to their E-Bid personal information and ensuring and can modify the information at any time. We believe that our Members are the best source of ensuring the accuracy of their personal information. We also employ procedures to assure data quality that include the use of protection against unauthorized alteration. Only E-Bid Members with a valid User ID and Password have the ability to access and modify their Personal Account information.   We hold our employees and agents accountable for ensuring the privacy and integrity of our Members' information. Our agents are contractually and legally obligated to follow agreed-upon privacy practices. If a personal Member feels that they have experienced a violation of this principle, they should contact us by telephone, mail, fax, or email at contact@ebid.com.au 

D. Children's Policy

   We do not collect information from children. Only adults are able to register with us in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. 

E. Use of Cookies

   Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to determine the identity of any user. Unless you specifically tell us, E-Bid will not know who you are. An id number at www.ebid.com.au allows you to log into your account without having to type in your password and login. This random number is kept in a file on your computer called a 'cookie.' Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to determine the identity of any user. A cookie cannot access any other information on your hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture other information such as your email address or other system passwords. You may set up your browser to let you know when a site wants to place a cookie. This will allow you to choose if you want to accept a cookie from that site. If you come to our site and you are just browsing, we will not attempt to serve you a cookie. If you choose to become a Member at www.ebid.com.au, you will be given the option of using cookies or not.
